Origin Story

Our story began with a simple, yet powerful idea: successful peacebuilding is driven by strong, trusting, and mutually beneficial partnerships. Drawing on longstanding relationships with a diverse network of academics, activists, diplomats, government officials, journalists, policymakers, and thought leaders at the forefront of MENA research and geopolitics, IMEO founder and executive director Mani A. Jad recognized a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change in the region. With the support of private sponsors, international government donors, and a growing portfolio of innovative programs, IMEO officially launched in 2024.
